		<description>I'm not disagreeing with you in the least or trying to trivialize this issue, but I think there is probably one major factor that plays a part in why non-LEOs are much less likely to be forgetful with our weapons.

We had to buy them.

When something costs you nothing, is issued to you as a job requirement, and doesn't really "belong" to you at all, properly caring for it simply isn't as important to you.  Even if there are severe consequences for misplacing it (which I would wager there are not for LEOs), it's just human nature to take better care of something that you had to personally part with hard earned cash for and would have to personally repair or replace were something to happen to it.</description>
