Yes, but can it shoot skeet?

Cannister shot on a tank.

It makes perfect sense, because quite frankly, tanks suck at urban and CQB fighting, and punching an HE round through three buildings to kill one guy is kind of overkill.

My dad use to talk about using those sort of round back in his Korean War days. From his stories, those rounds were very effective agains the Chinese.

Artillery field manuals referenced a “Beehive round” when I was in 20 years ago……

….there truly is nothing NEW under the sun…..

    Canister is great stuff.

Don’t sell HE in town short, though. When it’s a full-on assault (Fallujah, etc.) and the bad guys know you’re coming, the troops prefer not to use doors which have possibly been booby-trapped. A 120mm round makes an nice side entrance.

“Punching an HE round thru 3 buildings to kill one guy is kind of overkill.” Yes, but sometimes it’s not THAT you kill them, it’s HOW Decisively You Kill them, and WHO sees you do so. Hearts and Minds, and all that.
